Appointment of a New Vicar

Published

We are delighted to announce that the Rev’d Dr Andrew Walker has accepted the offer from the Archbishop of Canterbury to become the new Vicar of St Mary’s. Fr Andrew was ordained in 1985 following his first degree at St Chad’s College, Durham and ordination training at St Stephen’s House. Since then he has worked in parish ministry while additionally being founder director of the London Centre for Spirituality. He currently divides his time between being Director of the Healing and Counselling Centre associated with St Marylebone parish church and duties as Honorary Assistant Priest in the parish of St Paul and St Michael and all Angels, Brighton. His book Journey into Joy is published by SPCK, and On Retreat by Bloomsbury.

We hope to welcome Fr Andrew to the parish in May and dates for the institution will be shared as soon as arrangements are finalised.

We are greatly indebted to Fr Neil for all his work with us and he is available to speak to any parishioner about the new appointment over the coming weeks. He will be leaving St Mary’s at the end of March to take up his next assignment in his capacity as mental health liaison priest. There will be an opportunity to say farewell at a reception after the sung mass at 11.30am on the Feast of the Annunciation, Saturday 25th March.

Best wishes,

KATE COSTELOE & RAYMOND PRENTICE
