West Window

This window, presented by Dora Martyn in 1897, shows St George and St Edward the Confessor. Largely obscured when the organ case was built some years later it can now really only be seen to any advantage from the sanctuary.

It was designed by Mary Lowndes of Lowndes & Drury in Lettice Street, Fulham, the first woman stained-glass artist of the Arts and Crafts Movement. She was also a prominent suffragette and formed the Artists' Suffrage League to provide propaganda for the movement, for which purpose she designed many banners.
